I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who supports individuals through life’s most transformative—and often tender—seasons. My clinical work is shaped by over 15 years in maternal-child health nursing and a foundation in anti-trafficking advocacy. These experiences offer me an inclusive, trauma-responsive lens and a deep commitment to caring for the whole person. My approach is collaborative, warm, and rooted in social justice. I strive to create a therapeutic space that is relational and attuned to the intersections of identity, community, and ecological belonging.

My Philosophy

I believe healing often happens through a constellation of care—multiple touchpoints that come together to support wellbeing. Medication can be one of those touchpoints, easing symptoms and supporting greater functioning. I offer evidence-based options for both prescribing and deprescribing psychotropic medications, always aligning with your values and goals. My practice is guided by deep listening, curiosity, and respect for each person’s lived experience. I take a strengths-based, culturally humble approach and hold strong trust in each person’s capacity for resilience and transformation. I’m especially drawn to the edges—those liminal places of change, grief, and rebirth—and I hold space for that complexity with compassion and care.

Get to Know Heidi

What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of work?

I love planting native pollinator gardens, tending bees, and spending time in nature. You can often find me in a hammock with a nonfiction book or gathered with friends and family around a shared meal. Creative expression—especially making art with my kids—is a daily joy and a grounding force. Volunteering with organizations whose missions align with my values is also deeply meaningful to me. I’m honored to serve as an executive board member for the Oregon Chapter of Postpartum Support International.

What personal experiences or beliefs most influence your approach to psychiatric care and how you connect with clients?

I believe that healing is not linear and that everyone’s story deserves deep listening. My background in spiritual care and cross-cultural studies helps me hold space for complexity, transition, and grief. As a parent and former labor and delivery nurse, I’ve witnessed the beautiful coexistence of vulnerability and resilience. These personal and professional experiences continue to shape my commitment to individualized, collaborative psychiatric care rooted in each person’s goals and values.

What is your favorite method for managing your own mental health and well-being?

I turn to creative rituals, spiritual practice, movement, and time in community to stay grounded. Nature and mindfulness help me remain present and nourished, both personally and professionally. More than ever, community connection and creative expression feel essential for sustaining hope and meaning in my work and in the world.

Who I Work With
